ANURAG SAI KODIMALLA
I was 23 when I co-founded the Journeymen as a charity alongside Will and Luke. My story started when I came to the Sunshine Coast from Darwin. I came to the city, hoping to become an entrepreneur and possibly contribute to a positive social change. But as I was looking for an opportunity to start my big leap. I fell flat on my face, realizing I did not know anyone on the Sunshine Coast.
Humans are social creatures, and I had no luck connecting at my workplace further than a co-worker relationship. So, I started looking for people I could connect with online on the Sunshine Coast. After a desperate search, I found myself surrounded by people who resonated and wanted to make a positive social impact.
Fast forward a few months and The Journeymen was officially launched as a charity. I knew this was an important pivot in the direction of my life. And I knew that this was a leap I needed to take.
One day Will asked me “So why did you help start the journeymen?” I replied, “Because Why not?” I choose to help because I genuinely want to help passionate people. The people in the Journeymen are the most passionate and determined people I know.
One of my goals is to use the Journeymen’s passion for community and my passion for technology to solve, understand, and create platforms for communities.
